The International Federation of Marfan Syndrome Organizations (IFMSO) was founded in 1992 in San Francisco, California.

The IFMSO has set itself the task to carry accurate information about global Marfan syndrome together, and the international communication between the medical easier for professionals and the public. Other tasks are the IFMSO:

It has held seven symposia. The 3rd Symposium was held in Berlin in 1994, the 7th Symposium was held in 2005 in Ghent, Belgium instead.
